As an IT Technician, what are your responsibilities?
You are a key player in ensuring the company's digital environment runs smoothly. You install equipment, configure networks, automate recurring tasks, and provide effective user support. Your role is both technical, responsive, and service-oriented. You will also need to:
- Understand users' priorities and propose pragmatic solutions;
- Demonstrate rigor, teaching skills, curiosity, and adaptability;
- Incorporate cybersecurity, sustainability, and digital accessibility considerations into your practices.
Typical responsibilities you may handle:
- Deploy an automated IT fleet (workstations, servers, configurations)
- Install, secure, and maintain a local network (wired and Wi-Fi)
- Manage an Active Directory domain (accounts, permissions, GPOs, network services)
- Ensure monitoring and maintenance of an IT fleet
- Handle user requests and provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support following ITIL best practices
- Write and keep technical documentation up to date
- Work in on-prem, cloud, or hybrid environments
